Creating an Account
Registering to become a member of Edmunds grants you access to additional features on our site, including the ability to post comments on Edmunds articles, post messages in the Forums, and to write reviews for Dealers.
Registration is free and requires little more than your name and a valid email address. To begin the process, go to the "Sign In" page and click on "Register."
After you complete the registration form, click the blue "Register" button again to send us your information.
Shortly afterward, an activation link will be sent to the email address you entered. Click the activation link contained in that email to finish the registration process and activate your account. (Note: you may need to check your email program's spam or junk folder in case this email gets misfiled.)
Screen Name (or Username)
As a part of the registration process, you will be asked to create a “screen name” (or username). Your screen name is unique to you and will appear with any content or reviews you post.
In any online community, it is important to keep a consistent identity; therefore, screen names cannot be changed once selected.
Once you have an account, go to the "Sign In" page and enter the email address and password you used to create the account. Also, if you are posting a comment to an article, review, or in Edmunds Forums, clicking on "Sign In" will enable the log in screen.
If you’ve forgotten your password, click the "Forgot Password?" link (highlighted in the example below) and then enter the email address you used when registering. You will receive an email with instructions on how to reset your password. (Note: you may need to check your email program's spam or junk folder in case this email gets misfiled.)
If you cannot remember the email address you originally registered with or last had on file, please do not create a new account but click here to submit a request for assistance.
If you are viewing our site on a public computer or one that is used by other people, we suggest signing out at the end of your visit. To do this, return to "Sign In" and click on "Sign Out" at the top of the page.
Managing Your Account
To manage the details of your account, including your member profile, your email address or password, go to "Sign In" and click on Account at the top right of the page. (Note that you must first be signed in to Edmunds in order access your member profile.)
Closing an Account
To close or deactivate your Edmunds account, click here to submit a request.
