General Information & Pricing
- Can I list my car for sale by owner on Edmunds? Yes, Edmunds now offers the option to list your vehicle for sale by a private party. Alternatively, you can use our appraisal tool at no charge. During this process, you may receive an offer from one of our partners to purchase your vehicle.
- How much does it cost to list my vehicle? Each listing costs $19.99 for a 90-day listing period.
- When am I charged for the listing? When you submit your listing, a temporary hold of $19.99 will be placed on your payment method. The charge only becomes permanent once your listing is approved and published. If your listing is rejected or deactivated before it goes live, the hold will automatically expire within 7 days.

How do I create a private party advertisement?
- Go to the Edmunds Create Listing page and enter your vehicle's VIN.
- Enter details about your vehicle’s colors and features.
- Scroll down and toggle the "Seller Notes" section if you wish to provide additional details about your vehicle.
- Complete the vehicle condition questions.
- Upload high-quality photos of both the interior and exterior.
- Finalize your submission by entering your payment details.
- How long does it take for my listing to go live? After submission, your listing enters our moderation queue to be evaluated within 2 business days. Once approved, it will appear live on Edmunds within 24 hours.

How do I edit my listing? Log into your Edmunds account and click the "My Cars for Sale" tab, or navigate directly to www.edmunds.com/insider/appraisal/ to view your listing's status and make changes:
- How do I deactivate my listing? While viewing your listing on your dashboard, click on the three dots (...) above the word "More" to select the deactivation option:
Managing Your Offers & Transactions
- How do I receive and respond to buyer offers? Edmunds partners with Caramel to provide a secure transaction platform. When a potential buyer makes an offer, you will receive a notification email from Caramel.

How do I create a Caramel account to view my offers? To view and manage offers, go to Drive Caramel and click "Sign Up".
- Important: You must register using the same email address you used to create your ad on Edmunds.
- Where can I see my ongoing transactions? Once your Caramel account is set up, you can track all offers and transactions directly on your dashboard at Caramel Dashboard Overview.
